III. LOCAL PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY PROCEDURE - Local residents should monitor the above local broadcast stations for special bulletins issued by the Town. Bulletins regarding closed roadways and re-entry procedures will be broadcasted. Residents are also asked to closely monitor the weather stations for recommended evacuation from our area.

IV. TOWN ADMINISTRATION / PUBLIC SAFETY EVACUATION - The Town will provide buses that will assist in the evacuation of our citizens that are in need of transportation to a designated shelter. Please inform the Town of any special medical needs that may be required at the evacuation site.

V. EVACUATION ROUTE - The official evacuation route for Cameron County is U.S. Highway 77 North to U.S. Highway 83 West to U.S. Highway 281 North. [RESIDENTS SHOULD REMEMBER NOT TO TAKE SHORTCUTS AS ROADS COULD BE BLOCKED OR CLOSED.]

VI SHELTER AVAILABILITY AND PROCEDURE - Residents should monitor the above-mentioned television and radio stations for shelter openings and availability in their area sponsored by the American Red Cross. Residents evacuating to a shelter need to take blankets or sleeping bags, flashlights, special dietary foods, infant needs, and lightweight folding chairs. The American Red Cross will not open any shelters if the category of storm is a CATEGORY III and or greater. [DO NOT TAKE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR WEAPONS OF ANY KIND.] RESIDENTS SHOULD KEEP IN MIND THAT NO SHELTERS WILL BE OPENED WITHIN THE TOWN OF RANCHO VIEJO AS WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND RESIDENTS TO EVACUATE !!

VII RESIDENT RE-ENTRY PROCEDURE - The Re-Entry decision will be made by the Emergency Management Director after the threat has passed and Fire Personnel, Law Enforcement and Utilities Personnel have inspected the evacuated area for safety. All residents reentering the Town must do so through a Law Enforcement Check Point that will be located on Rancho Viejo Drive. Residents re-entering will be required to show proof of residency, Drivers License, Utility Bill, etc., as non - residents will not be allowed access. All OTHER POINTS OF ENTRY WILL BE CLOSED TO VEHICLES AND PEDESTRIANS

VIII VOLUNTEERS - Anyone willing to volunteer to help with road clean up efforts after a hurricane can sign up at the Town's Municipal Office Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm. The Town of Rancho Viejo has a very limited equipment supply so anyone interested in donating their time and / or equipment will be greatly appreciated. (The type of equipment needed is chain saw's, ax's' shovels, or any other equipment that would assist us in clearing our roads.)
